Borbonesa regularly visits universities and colleges to speak about its design and publishing activities. The group has also devised and delivered design+publishing workshops within schools through the Creative Partnerships scheme.

 

MAP-MAKING WORKSHOP

Year 8, Admiral Lord Nelson School, Portsmouth

A series of weekly practical workshops with Year 8 students to visually 'map' creativity in the school. Activities included planning and research, printmaking and digital design processes.

BOOK-MAKING WORKSHOP

Year 9, Admiral Lord Nelson School, Portsmouth

2010

Five workshops exploring the materials, tools and processes used to make artist-books, including papermaking, paper-engineering, printmaking and bookbinding techniques.

ZINE DAY

Year 6, St Paul's Catholic Primary School, Portsmouth

2010

Students collaborated to design a 'one-shot' zine, working in teams to generate the content of the book before printing and hand-stitching their individual copies.

 

BANNER-MAKING DAY

Year 3, St Paul's Catholic Primary School, Portsmouth

Students collaborated to design a banner emblazoned with the school motto "do everything with love". Activities included mind-mapping, measuring, drawing and painting.

BOOK DAY

Year 8, Admiral Lord Nelson School, Portsmouth

A one-day personal development day, culminating in the production of a large-format children's book. Students worked in teams to create and present the book by the end of the school day.
